Renner invests in the food industry

Renner Herrmann S.A. announced that it will invest R$ 30 million in the dairy industry, in the form of a plant to be built this year.

The project – with a first stage consisting of 5,000 m² (approximately 54,000 sq. ft.) of constructed area on a lot measuring 200,000 m² (approximately 2.15 million sq. ft.) – will create more than 100 jobs during its initial period. At this stage, it is projected to produce whey powder from 1.5 million liters (approximately 400,000 gallons) of whey per day, which is generated by cheese factories throughout the states of Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina.

When processed into powder, whey is an important ingredient for the food industry and the animal feed industry. Furthermore, the project is environmentally important, since a complex process of recuperation is necessary in order to return the whey in a form that can be readily absorbed by nature.

The exact location of the plant is still being discussed, even though it has already been decided that it will be built in the region of Alto Uruguai.
