Ernst Ludwig Herrmann Park
In November 2002, Renner Herrmann S.A. donated to the community from the North region of Porto Alegre the Ernst Ludwig Herrmann Park, an area of 4 hectares destined to leisure, sports, recreational activities and nature’s preservation.
The history of the Park is directly related to the construction of Renner Herrmann S.A. on Assis Brasil Avenue, in the North region of Porto Alegre, in the year 1946. It was next to this plant that Ernst Ludwig Herrmann, the main leader of Renner Herrmann S.A. until 1958 – his death year, dedicated his free time to plant the seedlings that today form the woodland of the park. Among the many species present in the area are Araucarias, Jacarandas, palm trees, eucalypts and Guarapuruvus. The little reserve plays a crucial role in the current urban environment of the area: it works as its “lungs”, in addition to providing a location for leisure and recreation.
In 2006, listening once again the requests of the community, Renner Herrmann S.A., along with Brasa Zona Norte Church, adopted the park. By donating and maintaining the tools and equipment used for the cleaning and conservation of the location, the Renner Herrmann S.A. group works to make sure that the park continues in a great condition, providing an area of nature and leisure to the community of Porto Alegre.
